Casper Browser blocks trackers, defeats fingerprinting, wipes every session clean, and sends an AI agent to fetch answers on your behalf — so websites never see you.
Most browsers treat privacy as an add-on. Incognito mode is cosmetic. Extensions can be bypassed. VPNs are a separate subscription. Casper is different. Privacy is enforced deterministically in a Rust backend before any data leaves your machine — no configuration, no extension to enable, no exception.
When you browse directly, Casper blocks trackers, spoofs your device fingerprint, strips tracking parameters from URLs, and wipes every session clean the moment you close it. When you want to research something, Casper sends an AI agent to fetch the answer on your behalf through a privacy gateway — so the websites you're learning from never know you visited.
Works standalone, no account required. Casper is a fully capable private browser out of the box. Optionally connect it to your own local AI model via Ollama for on-device AI that never touches a cloud service.
Privacy is enforced in a deterministic Rust backend — not by a browser extension that a page can work around.
Canvas, audio, WebGL, and navigator APIs all return spoofed values. WebRTC is killed entirely, closing the most common IP leak vector. Per-session deterministic noise means your fingerprint looks like an ordinary machine — while being unique to nothing across sessions.
Known tracker and ad domains are blocked on every navigation and sub-resource request — not just when you type a URL, but on every link you click. Covers ads, analytics, social trackers, and fingerprinting services.
Cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB, and the cache are wiped when the session ends. Browsing history is never written to disk. Close Casper and nothing about where you went persists on your machine.
Tracking parameters — utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, fbclid, gclid, mc_eid, msclkid, and more — are stripped from URLs before any request is made. Links don't carry the fingerprint of where you came from.
Connect Casper to a local Ollama instance and ask questions about the page you're reading. Summarize, translate, explain — using a model running entirely on your device. Nothing leaves your machine.
Ask a question. Casper's AI agent plans search queries, fetches candidate pages headlessly through a privacy gateway, sanitizes them to clean text stripping scripts and tracking pixels, and synthesizes an answer with source attribution. The sites you're researching never receive your IP address, cookies, or browsing history — just an anonymous agent request. Every claim is traceable to a source you can open in an isolated private tab.
Every action the AI agent proposes is validated by an independent policy engine before it executes. The engine holds a fixed allowlist and runs outside the model's context — it cannot be argued with, prompted, or jailbroken by a malicious page.
From basic tracker blocking to full AI-mediated research where you never directly connect to the sites you're learning from. Switch per session. The current level is always visible. Each is a distinct, enforced configuration — not a UI preference.
No analytics, no crash reporter, no usage metrics. No silent updates. When you download Casper, nothing about your installation is reported anywhere. This is not configurable — there is nothing to configure.
In AI Research Mode, you never touch the sites you're researching. The agent does everything through a privacy gateway.
Type anything. Casper detects question-shaped input and routes it to the agent loop — no manual mode switch needed.
A local AI decomposes your question into targeted search queries and fetches results through a privacy gateway. No query logs, no personalization.
Candidate pages are fetched headlessly — stripping scripts, tracking pixels, and hidden text — before any content reaches the model.
A synthesized answer arrives with every claim attributed to a source. The sites you researched saw an anonymous request — not you.
Every level is a distinct, enforced configuration — not a UI preference. Switch per session. The current level is always visible.
Not "we take privacy seriously." We simply don't collect anything.
Downloading Casper requires no email, no account, and no registration. The download is a file. Nothing about it is reported anywhere.
No analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no usage metrics, no silent updates. The only network traffic Casper generates is traffic you initiate — nothing else leaves your machine.
Casper's AI connects to a model running on your own machine via Ollama. Your questions, your research, and your browsing are not sent to any server we operate.
